Covering coastal Douglas County:

A California man was jailed Friday, charged with an alleged elude incident near Winchester Bay.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 5:20 p.m. 32-year old Roman Minlikyev was speeding southbound in the ATV lane on Banshee Hill. A deputy activated his emergency lights and siren but the man kept going. The suspect eventually crashed. He was taken into custody and his bike was impounded.

Charges include elude, reckless driving and for recklessly endangering another. Bail was set at $67,500.
