One person was hospitalized after a wreck on Highway 38 in the Scottsburg area on Tuesday morning.
A report from Oregon State Police said at about 3:00 a.m. an eastbound vehicle left the roadway and crashed into an embankment. It rolled and came to an uncontrolled stop in the westbound lane. The report said evidence indicated that the driver had apparently fallen asleep. The driver was taken to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport with minor injuries. All three passengers complained of minor pain, but refused medical transport.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
