Two people were hurt when a UTrans bus was rear ended on Monday afternoon.
Information from Roseburg Police said at 4:00 p.m. the bus was almost at a complete stop as it was headed south in the 300 block of Northeast Winchester. A 55-year old man was traveling southbound behind the bus when he apparently got distracted after something fell off his seat. The driver never hit his brakes and his pickup ran directly into the back of the bus.
The report said one bus passenger hit their head on a window and another sustained a cut on their hand from getting knocked down to the ground. Both passengers refused medical treatment and neither driver was injured.
The pickup sustained heavy damage and was clearly totaled. It had to be towed from the scene. The bus sustained heavy damage but was still drivable. The man who caused the wreck was cited for following too closely.
