The Roseburg VA Health Care System is partnering with the local Salvation Army to help veterans in need before the upcoming holiday season.

A release said the organizations will distribute 100 free bags of food for low-and-no income veterans from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Roseburg VA campus. Veterans wishing to take part must present proof of their veteran status, such as showing a VA Healthcare Enrollee card, state-issued veteran identification card, or their DD-214 form. They must wear a face covering per COVID-19 prevention guidelines at the VA.

The veteran must be present to accept the items. Veterans will be served on a first-come, first served basis. The distribution will take place near the south entrance to the VA campus, adjacent to the National Cemetery. To find out more call the Voluntary Service office at the VA at 440-1000.
