A Roseburg man was jailed after an alleged menacing incident early Monday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 12:15 a.m. 57-year old James Wilkerson was on someone else’s property in the 100 block of Southeast Mosher. The man reportedly refused to leave and threatened to come back to the home and kill the resident and their dogs. Later in the morning Wilkerson was found wading in the middle of the South Umpqua River and was eventually detained.

Charges included menacing and for second degree counts of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was released from custody later in the day.
