The Archie Creek Fire east of Glide is 94 percent contained.

Northwest Incident Management Team 12 has assumed command of the Archie Creek Fire and the Thielsen Fire. The incident command post is now located at the Strader Ranch in Glide.

The new team is managing the fire on Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management lands while the Douglas Forest Protective Association is working on mop up and patrol on private lands.

The latest update said smoldering logs and stumps in the interior of the fire will continue to put up smoke, but no fire perimeter growth is expected.

The Thielsen Fire remains 71 percent contained with no additional fire growth.
