AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY THROUGH FRIDAY

October 6, 2020 4:00 a.m.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for parts of southern Oregon through Friday afternoon.

A DEQ statement said wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, and can aggravate heart and lung diseases, and other serious health problems. Residents should limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky.

Go to www.oregon.gov/deq for more information on air quality.

The Advisory area includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, the Southern Oregon Cascades, Siskiyou Mountains and nearby areas.
