A female transient with jailed after allegedly trying to elude police in a stolen vehicle on Tuesday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 2:00 p.m. a deputy recognized a vehicle as being stolen as it passed by him on Colonial Road. The deputy turned around an attempted to catch up to it as it sped away. A pursuit began in the 4,000 block of Colonial Road. The report said the driver, 22-year old Sarah King, lost control of the sedan near the corner of Melrose Road and Flournoy Valley Road.
The report said King attempted to run, but got caught up in her seat belt. She was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and for a parole violation. She was held without bail.
