As the new school year is beginning, the American Red Cross still has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage.
Those who are healthy, feeling well, and are eligible to give blood or platelets, are urged to make an appointment to donate as soon as possible. Appointments are required. They can be made by going to www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767.
Blood drives happening this week include:
*Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Roseburg Blood Donation Center on Garden Valley Boulevard
*Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Family Church on Carnes Road in Green
*Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Riddle High School on Main Street
*Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Redeemer’s Fellowship on West Harvard
*Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Drain Church of Christ on 2nd Street.
More blood drives are scheduled next week as well.
