ODF FIRE REPORT FOR MONDAY

September 28, 2020 9:30 a.m.

There were gains in containment over the weekend on all 6 major fires in the state, which are being tracked by the Oregon Department of Forestry.

That number continues to decrease as more fires are 100 percent lined and fire managers are confident in their progress toward containment. On that basis, the Thielsen Fire, which has not grown from 9,971acres in days, and is more than two thirds contained, has been removed from the list.

More than 7,500 personnel are assigned to the fires, not including many government employees, landowners, forestland operators, and community members. Resources from 39 states and multiple Canadian providences are helping at the fires.

The major fires include:

*Lionshead Fire, 20 miles west of Warm Springs is 34 percent contained and listed at just over 204,000 acres

*Beachie Creek Fire, 15 miles north of Detroit is 58 percent contained, and nearly 193,000 acres

*Holiday Farm Fire, 3 miles west of McKenzie Bridge is 55 percent contained and just over 173,000 acres

*Riverside Fire, 2 miles southeast of Estacada is 37 percent contained and over 138,000 acres

*Archie Creek Fire, 20 miles east of Glide, is 69 percent contained and over 131,000 acres

*Slater Fire 6 miles southeast of Cave Junction is 38 percent contained and over 44,000 acres.
