The containment level continues to grow on both the Archie Creek Fire east of Glide and on the Thielsen Fire, burning near Diamond Lake.

As of Sunday, the Southern Area Red Team which is managing the Archie Creek Fire in unified command with other agencies, has taken over management of the Thielsen Fire as well.

The latest update said the Archie Creek Fire has burned 131,542 acres and is 67 percent contained. The change in acreage is due to better mapping.

Fire behavior has been minimal. Firefighters continue to make good progress mopping up all around the fire in areas they could access from good roads. They are also assessing the actions needed to repair damage from building fire lines.

946 people are working on the fire.

The Thielsen Fire remains at 9,971 acres and is now 69 percent contained.

Crews continue to secure lines and mop up where possible. They have also secured the Cinnamon Butte tower and communication site. Firefighters are improving potential contingency lines on 60 roads inside the fire area.

336 people are working on the fire.
