COVID-19 INFECTIONS, TEST POSITIVITY PERCENT UP IN OREGON

The Oregon Health Authority has released its weekly report on COVID-19 cases in the state.

For the week of September 14th through September 20th, reported new COVID-19 infections rose 17 percent from the week prior, to 1,511. The number of Oregonians newly tested rose 8 percent to 18,840. The percentage of tests that were positive rose from 5.6 percent to 6.2 percent.

The report said 18 Oregonians were reported to have died in association with COVID-19, compared to 29 the prior week. 116 were hospitalized, up from 83 in the previous week. The age group with the highest incidence of reported infection continues to be 20-29 years-old. People under age 30 have accounted for 37 percent of reported cases.
