COUNTY ENCOURAGES THOSE AFFECTED BY FIRE TO START FEMA PROCESS

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging those affected by the Archie Creek Fire to start the process of applying for Individual Assistance available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell said FEMA is standing by to assist those who qualify because they have been displaced or who have lost things like vehicles in the fire. County Emergency Management is seeking information from the public regarding property damages incurred as a result of both the Archie Creek and the Thielsen fires. Owners are asked to go to www.dcso.com/fires and fill out a form regarding damages. This information may be shared with local, state, and federal organizations who may be able to assist people impacted by these incidents.
