A man was jailed after apparently causing a three-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 3:35 p.m.32-year old Cody Voth was walking along Northeast Stephens near Virgia in the Winchester area, allegedly throwing items at cars.
The report said a driver attempted to stop because the suspect had thrown a bottle in the road, but the vehicle was rear-ended by the car behind it. That pushed the first vehicle into the oncoming lane where it collided head-on with a third vehicle. The first driver was injured. The report said all the drivers and witnesses said the wreck happened because of Voth’s actions.
He was charged with fourth degree assault, five counts of reckless endangering another person, second degree counts of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and for a parole violation. Voth was held without bail.
