AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON

September 19, 2020 8:20 a.m.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath and Lake counties through Saturday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels at times. Air quality will be worse near the wildfires.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, running nose, can aggravate heart and lung diseases, and can aggravate other serious health problems. Residents should limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky.
