The Douglas County St. Vincent de Paul Society will have food boxes available on Tuesday, at three locations.
In Roseburg, food will be available in the main parking lot of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at the corner of West Harvard and Stewart Parkway. Boxes will be given out starting at 7:15 a.m.
In Sutherlin, food will be given out at the group’s thrift store on East Central,beginning at 7:30 a.m.
In Myrtle Creek, boxes will be available in the parking lot just across the bridge by Tommy’s near the covered bridge at 7:30 a.m.
Those in need can come to any of those locations, and open their trunk and the food will be placed inside. All boxes contain fresh food which will have to be refrigerated.
The boxes are part of the Farms to Families Federal Program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Catholic Church of western Oregon is one of the organizations distributing the food, to help families in their time of need.
Roseburg St. Vincent de Paul is open Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help people with utilities and household and personal items. Their offices are at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Roseburg. For more information, call 680-0680.
