A Level 3 “GO!” evacuation order was issued for all homes, cabins, recreation sites, and the lodge at Diamond Lake Resort just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said there is a significant wildfire burning in the area.

Early Wednesday danger to the area was said to be imminent and residents and visitors were told to evacuate immediately.
