COVID-19 has claimed 8 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 494, as of Wednesday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 125 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 28,471. The new cases include:
*23 in Marion County
*22 in Multnomah County
*11 each in Lane and Linn counties
*10 in Washington County
*7 each in Jackson and Clackamas counties
*5 in Umatilla County
*3 in Josephine County
*2 each in Benton, Morrow, Polk and Tillamook counties
*1 each in Columbia, Deschutes, Jefferson, Klamath, Union and Yamhill counties
The new deaths ranged in age from 49 to 97. 3 lived in Washington County, with 1 each in Deschutes, Malheur, Umatilla, Morrow and Lane counties.
The update said with air quality very poor across the state, residents should remember that exposure to smoke and other forms of pollution can increase the risk and severity of respiratory infections, including possibly COVID-19.
