A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the Umpqua Basin, the Umpqua National Forest, and nearby areas, through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said strong gusty winds with low relative humidity and high fire danger will likely contribute to a significant spread of new and existing fires.

Winds in some areas will be from the east at 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
