A Roseburg man was jailed for second degree assault by Roseburg Police on Monday.
Information from Roseburg Police said according to witnesses, the suspect hit a male victim over the head with a brick while he was asleep, at Riverside Park on Saturday. 40-year old Karl Volosin was tracked to Deer Creek near The Point, where he allegedly ran through the creek bed. A perimeter was established, but the man was not found that night.
The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center via ambulance where he received multiple stiches in his ear and staples to his head. The report said the victim did not remember the incident.
Volosin was found at a motel on Southeast Stephens on Sunday and detained early Monday. Bail was set at $250,000.
