The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 2 or “BE SET” notice regarding the French Creek Fire, burning near Glide.

It applies to all homes between 13767 North Bank Road and 16998 North Bank Road including all road systems in between those addresses.

This level indicates significant fire danger and that residents should leave. Those who stay, should be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice. It could be the only notice residents get, if conditions worsen. “Go kits” should have all the essentials for last two weeks.

Douglas County Commissioners have made arrangements for residents affected by the fire to board horses at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

All residents along French Creek Road remain at a Level 2 “BE SET” notice at this time.
