FRENCH CREEK FIRE AT 300 ACRES, NEAR GLIDE

Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association are battling the French Creek Fire near Glide.

Kyle Reed of DFPA said its estimated to be 300 acres in size as of 4:00 a.m. and is burning in light, flashy fuels. Three dozers, and multiple engines are engaged on the fire. Reed said strong gusty winds continue to challenge firefighters as they work to contain the blaze.

A level 2 evacuation notice has been issued for homes near the fire.
