DUII ENFORCEMENT PATROLS CONTINUE THIS MONTH

Officers with the Roseburg Police Department are continuing a traffic safety enforcement campaign this month.

Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch said additional officers are working shifts to specifically target DUII drivers. Eichenbusch said drivers should follow these tips:

*Remember that even one drink can impair judgement and increase the risk of getting arrested for driving drunk, or worse yet, the risk of having a crash while driving.

*Those that will be drinking should plan on not driving. Designate a sober driver before a party begins.

*Those who have been drinking, should not drive. They should call a taxi, phone a sober friend, or use public transportation.

*Do not let someone who has been driving, get behind the wheel.

*Those who see an impaired driver on the road, should contact law enforcement.

Eichenbusch said the enforcement campaign is made possible through a grant received from Oregon Impact and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
