AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY IN EFFECT

Officials with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality have issued an Air Pollution Advisory that is in effect until further notice.

DEQ expects the advisory to last until at least Thursday afternoon.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and they could be at unhealthy levels.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose and can aggravate heart and lung diseases and other serious health problems. Residents should keep children indoors it if is smoky.

When smoke levels are high:

*Stay inside if possible. Keep windows and doors closed

*Avoid strenuous outdoor activities

*Be aware of smoke in the area, and avoid places with the highest levels

*Use high efficiency particulate air filters
