Monday is Labor Day and that means there are a number of closures.

Federal, state, county and city offices are closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Banks and credit unions are closed. Most professional offices are closed though many retail locations are open.

The Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum in Winchester Bay is open as usual. Most schools open for either in-person or remote distance learning on Tuesday.

Labor Day was first observed 126 years ago, to pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers.
