TWO DIE IN MOTORCYCLE VERSUS PICKUP COLLISION

Two people died in a motorcycle versus pickup wreck on Saturday night.

Information from Oregon State Police said at 9:40 p.m. troopers and emergency personnel responded to the wreck on Highway 38, 5 miles west of Drain.

The report said a motorcycle operated by 38-year old Seth Albert of Eugene was westbound when it collided with a pickup, driven by a 57-year old man from Walla Walla, Washington, that was turning to go eastbound onto the highway.

Albert and his passenger, 35-year old Cherissa Rainwater of Marcola, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Highway 38 was closed for approximately 3 hours following the crash.

OSP was assisted by North Douglas County Fire and EMS, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
