SPLASH PAD OPEN TWO EXTRA WEEKS

September 4, 2020 10:00 a.m.

The Splash Pad in Roseburg’s Fir Grove Park will remain open for an additional two weeks.

Information from the City of Roseburg said during a normal season, the Splash Pad would open on Memorial Day and close on Labor Day. Due to COVID-19, its opening was delayed this year. Staff decided to keep it open until September 21st, giving families and kids additional opportunities to enjoy the attraction.

Parks and Recreation Manager Kris Ammerman said initially with the COVID-19 restrictions, staff was not sure the Splash Pad would even open at all. He said, “Thankfully, the State allowed us to open safely so that kids could enjoy a fun, socially distanced activity”.

The Splash Pad operates daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and opened to the public in 2018. The Fir Grove playground adjacent to the Splash Pad will remain open for the near future.
