COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 475

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state death toll to 475 as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 268 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 27,601. The cases include:

*44 in Marion County

*43 in Multnomah County

*32 in Umatilla County

*31 in Malheur County

*23 in Washington County

*22 in Lane County

*18 in Clackamas County

*12 in Jackson County

*6 in Josephine County

*5 in Linn County

*4 in Benton County

*3 in Polk County

*2 each in Crook, Deschutes, Hood River, Lake, Wasco, Tillamook and Yamhill counties

*1 each in Clatsop, Curry, Union and Jefferson counties

The new reported deaths range in age from 43 to 87. 3 lived in Multnomah County, with 1 each in Clackamas and Washington counties.

OHA released its latest modeling report today, showing that the current rate of transmission has fallen to a point where each case is generating less than one other case. The report said for this reason, daily case numbers are dropping.
