A Roseburg man was cited for failure to perform the duties of a driver by Roseburg Police on Saturday night.

The report said the 31-year old was called in by multiple witnesses as a DUII driver after hitting a pole in the parking lot of Fred Meyer shortly before 9:00 p.m.

When officers attempted to stop his vehicle, the suspect allegedly entered the Interstate Five northbound on-ramp, traveling the wrong direction as he headed south. The man then reportedly drove over a flower bed median onto the northbound lanes of the freeway. He was later stopped near the Winchester exit by troopers from the Oregon State Police and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Additional charges included DUII alcohol, and reckless driving.
