A man described as definitely being a high-level drug dealer by the head of the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team, was arrested on Sunday.

Lieutenant Rick McArthur of DINT said 32-year old Sean Lovewell of Junction City had been wanted regarding a case earlier in the year. DINT detectives learned of the man’s presence at a motel in the 300 block of West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg. McArthur said they believed that he was in possession of large amounts of narcotics, and possibly weapons.

Lovewell was taken into custody at about 10:30 a.m. He was initially charged with attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, and recklessly endangering – all of those from a prior case with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

DINT detectives followed up with a search of the motel room that Lovewell had been in. That allegedly revealed approximately 812 grams of methamphetamine, which is nearly two pounds. Also reportedly found was a loaded 9mm pistol, a small amount of suspected heroin, and other drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges were added including unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of a firearm and for interfering with a police officer. He was also held for a parole violation, and detained without bail.

McArthur said 26-year old Michaela Owens of Gold Hill was also contacted as part of the investigation. She was cited for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and was released.
