Umpqua Valley Arts plans to reopen The Clay Place soon.
A UVA release said it is the region’s only clay studio. After a lengthy closure necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio will be open starting September 30th in its newly renovated space. New lighting, new fans, new wiring, a fresh paint job, and new industrial sink and some new shelving are in place.
Studio hours will be:
*Mondays for an open studio from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
*Tuesdays for an open studio from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
*Wednesdays for instruction and an open studio from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
*Thursdays for instruction and an open studio from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Fridays for an open studio from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Two different registration levels are offered depending on how much, if any, prior experience people have with ceramics. COVID-19 has changed some of the studio policies and structure in its classes.
