AIR QUALITY ALERT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

August 29, 2020 7:00 a.m.

An Air Quality Alert is in place through 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and the Southern Oregon Cascades, along with areas in south central and south eastern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said an Air Pollution Advisory has been issued for Klamath and Lake Counties as well.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate. They could be at unhealthy levels at times.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate serious health problems. Residents should limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky.
