A Glendale man was jailed after a pursuit by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell said at about 8:00 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop a car on Interstate Five near Canyonville. The driver, later identified as 39-year old Jason Dangerfield, allegedly refused to stop. Dangerfield took off and led deputies in a pursuit into the mountains, approximately five to six miles northeast of Glendale. O’Dell said Dangerfield fled from the vehicle on foot down an embankment into very steep terrain.
K9 Zoro arrived and began to help deputies with a search for the suspect. The man was eventually located approximately ten feet up a tree and was detained. Charges include attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, interfering with a police officer, obstructing governmental/judicial administration, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and for warrants that were out for his arrest. Bail was set at $81,250.
O’Dell said K9 Zoro is a 2-year old German Shepherd that has been with DCSO since September of 2019.
