The Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge and the Myrtle Creek-Tri City Area Chamber of Commerce are having what they call a “COVID-19 compliant fun free community event to celebrate the end of summer” Friday and Saturday.
Most activities are taking place outside the Elk’s Lodge or in the Elk’s Lodge parking lots along Main Street. Activities include:
*Up to 40 vendor booths for a swap meet, flea market, crafts, collectibles and “sweet treat” items from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday
*A food wagon with street tacos, nachos and tri-tip sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs on the deck, a beer and wine garden, and the Elk’s Drug Awareness Trailer
*Saturday only there will be a dunk tank from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where community leaders and public officials can be dunked for a small cost
*Karaoke by Mr. Michael, “Wizard of Ahhs” Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
*Local duo “New Age Phonograph” will perform outside the lodge from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday
*Downtown businesses have been invited to participate as well
There is a controlled entry and exit point to ensure compliance with wearing masks and social distancing. Free parking is available in the Ireland lot on Main Street near Horse Creek Covered Bridge.
