Some grave sites in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Roseburg were accidently run over, after a vehicle lost traction on loose gravel on Tuesday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said at 7:30 p.m. a 33-year old man was on Douglas Avenue following a painting crew that was restriping the roadway. The report said the driver decided he didn’t want to wait for the workers, so went into the cemetery driveway to try and turn around. The man drove to the top of the driveway and into the gravel, which caused the car to lose traction.

The sedan slid back down the driveway and into the cemetery, running over multiple grave sites. Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors responded to the scene to assess the damage.

The vehicle was towed out of the cemetery and the man was able to drive it from the scene.
