A former teacher for the Yoncalla School District, who is currently an emergency first responder, has been jailed for second degree online sexual corruption of a child and other charges.
Captain Kurt Sorenson of the Sutherlin Police Department told News Radio 1240 KQEN that 30-year old Brett Andry was taken into custody following an investigation that had taken place over several months. Sorenson said the investigation was not associated with Andry’s employment.
Sorenson said Andry is a Lane County resident and was taken into custody in Drain at about 7:00 a.m. Tuesday. He did not provide additional details regarding the case.
Yoncalla School District Superintendent Brian Berry told KQEN that Andry was a history teacher at Yoncalla High School for two years, but has not been employed by the district for the past two years. Andry taught students in grades 9-12.
Fire Chief Ike Shannon of the North Douglas County Fire and EMS told KQEN that Andry started with the agency in July of 2019. Shannon said Andry is a Captain/Paramedic.
Other charges included 4 counts of luring a minor. Bail was set at $250,000.
