OREGON COAST AQUARIUM HAS REOPENED

August 25, 2020 3:20 a.m.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport fully reopened on Monday.

President/CEO Carrie Lewis said after a five-month closure and a soft re-opening with outside exhibit access only, they are ready and eager to have their indoor exhibits open. Some areas like the play area and the cafe will remain closed.

The release said that during the closure, staff and volunteers have been busy remodeling a new Indo-Pacific Coral Reef exhibit, which was transformed from the prior Oregon Kelp Forest exhibit.

Lewis said “The health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, guests and animals is our top priority”. The number of guests is limited per day. All tickets must be purchased online. Social distancing and face coverings are required.
