The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal has mobilized Oregon fire resources to assist with the response to the California wildfires, following Tuesday’s emergency declaration by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

A release said OSFM has activated its Agency Operations Center and sent three task forces with equipment and personnel to join the firefighting efforts. Mobilized strike teams, comprising 52 people were sent from Clatsop, Linn and Marion counties.

California made the request through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, a national state-to-state mutual aid system.
