Officials with the City of Myrtle Creek are asking water customers to conserve, due to a water main break.
City Administrator Sean Negherbon told News Radio 1240 KQEN that a large water main break was discovered Monday night around 9:30 p.m. He said the break was right outside the water treatment plant which means water is not getting to the three reservoirs where water is stored.
Negherbon said help has come from the Tri City water plant where the operator worked through the night to produce more water and send it to Myrtle Creek’s system. City crews worked overnight as well
Negherbon said staff used the reverse 911 system to let residents know about the situation. He said anyone not called likely has a cell phone, which needs to be registered with the City so they can be contacted in situations like this.
Residents should continue to conserve water until notified that the issue has been resolved, according to Negherbon.
