Residents in the City of Roseburg can now begin displaying signs promoting candidates for political office.
Communications Specialist Eric Johnson with the City said citizens are reminded that posting these signs must comply with state law and Roseburg Municipal Code. Signs should be no more than 32 feet square, and the entire campaign message must be contained on one sign.
Campaign signs are not allowed on or within:
*Public parks
*Utility poles
*Bridges or other scenic areas
*On fences, trees or other publicly posted signs
*A public right-of-way, such as a sidewalk
Johnson said signs that are found to be in violation of Roseburg Municipal Code will be removed and stored at the Public Works Shop on Northeast Fulton. Signs will be held for 10 days and then disposed of if they are not collected by the owner.
All campaign signs must be removed by November 6th, which is three days after the election.
