COVID-19 CLAIMS 9 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 349 AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 9 more lives, raising the state death toll to 349 as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 423 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 20,636. The 9 deaths tie for the highest daily death count since the pandemic began. July 24th also had 9 death reports.

The new cases include:

*110 in Multnomah County

*53 each in Washington and Umatilla counties

*47 in Marion County

*21 each in Malheur and Morrow counties

*18 in Deschutes County

*17 in Yamhill County

*16 in Clackamas County

*13 in Lane County

*12 in Jackson County

*7 in Polk County

*6 in Linn County

*5 in Jefferson County

*3 each in Douglas, Josephine, Benton, Hood River and Polk counties

*2 each in Columbia and Union counties

*1 Baker, Clatsop, Grant, Klamath, and Lincoln counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 64 to 94. One each lived in 9 different counties.
