1 more person has received positive test results for COVID-19 in Douglas County as of Wednesday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 141. Of those, 128 people have had positive test results, and 13 are presumptive. There has been 1 death. 1 person is currently hospitalized. 24 people are in isolation. 8,099 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

The Response Team update said they continue to stress the importance of assessing COVID-19 risk when deciding what activities to take part in. The update said several of the recent test results have been linked to travel outside of Douglas County, and especially travel outside of Oregon. The update said data from federal and state health agencies show that traveling and coming into contact with people from other areas, does significantly increase the chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Social gatherings have also led to other local cases.

The next drive through testing clinic with the Douglas Public Health Network will be Friday in Roseburg. Go to www.douglaspublichealthnetwork.org for more local information on COVID-19.
