A Roseburg man was jailed Sunday after a second police pursuit.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop at the Winston exit from Interstate Five. The vehicle failed to stop and was pursued around the Green District going from Highway 99 to Happy Valley Road, to Dark Horse and back out west on Happy Valley toward Lookingglass. Winston Police spike stripped the vehicle near the corner of Happy Valley and Lookingglass. Near the 10,000 block of Lookingglass, the driver, identified as 26-year old Nickolas Kaisershot, fled on foot and the deputy eventually lost sight of him.

On Sunday at about 12:00 p.m. dispatch reported a man was walking along Happy Valley Road with no shirt and ripped up jeans. Kaisershot was located near the 1,800 block. The report said when the suspect saw the deputy approaching, he jumped a fence and started running through a field. The suspect was eventually found under a fallen tree root along a creek. He was taken into custody.

Kaisershot was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle and on foot and for reckless driving. Bail was set at $62,500.
