An alleged burglar has been captured, and most of the property has been returned to its owner.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 7:00 a.m. Saturday, deputies were sent to a reported burglary at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Speedway complex.

O’Dell said deputies learned that approximately $10,000-$15,000 worth of items had been stolen from the Pacific Racing Association. Surveillance footage was obtained and deputies processed the crime scene.

O’Dell said through the course of the investigation, deputies developed 25-year old Christian Busschau of Washougal, Washington as the suspect. On Sunday, deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Pioneer Way in Winchester.

Busschau was charged with first degree counts of aggravated theft and criminal mischief, second degree counts of criminal trespass and burglary, and for offensive littering. Bail was set at $202,500.

O’Dell said still missing are 11 Black Box radios along with chargers and spare batteries. He said the radios may have residue on the front where stickers may have been removed. Anyone with information is asked to call DCSO at 440-4471.
