ALCOHOL RELATED TO SIX INCIDENTS

Alcohol was related to six incidents on the Roseburg Police logs between Friday and Sunday.

Friday at 2:30 p.m. a 38-year old man was sitting next to Bob’s Deli on Northeast Stephens, drinking alcohol. The man refused to leave when an employee asked him to. He was cited for drinking in public.

A few minutes later an officer saw a 38-year old woman drinking beer at the entrance to Fred Meyer. She was cited on the same charge.

Saturday morning at around 9:45 a.m. a 59-year old man returned to Safeway after being previously trespassed and yelled at employees. He was found drinking beer in the parking lot. The man was cited for second degree criminal trespass and for drinking in public. He was released.

At about 10:40 a.m. the man from the first entry on Friday, allegedly stole a Hurricane beer from Stephens Street Market and was found drinking it while sitting on the sidewalk down the street. He was cited for drinking in public and third-degree theft.

An hour later, the same man allegedly stole a six pack of beer from Rite Aid on Southeast Stephens. He refused to leave the property. When contacted by an officer, the man allegedly tore up his citation and threw it and the beer onto the ground. He was charged with second degree criminal trespass, third degree theft and for offensive littering. The man was jailed, but was released on Sunday.

On Sunday at 10:40 a.m. the 59-year old man mentioned earlier returned to Safeway again, and was intoxicated. He was again cited for second degree criminal mischief.
