Due to many issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Umpqua Velo Club Board and the Vineyard Tour Committee, have decided to cancel the Vineyard Bike Tour for 2020.

The groups have decided they will be unable to put on an event that provides a quality ride while keeping participants and volunteers safe. A release said “Our highest priority is the health and wellness of our volunteers, partners, sponsors, riders, and the people of the Umpqua Valley communities”. They said while cancelling this year’s ride is very disappointing, they recognize that the best thing they can do for all concerned is to think and plan long term.

Riders who have already registered for the 2020 Vineyard Tour will be issued a voucher for the 2021 ride. Those who have ordered a jersey or t-shirt for this year, will receive a voucher for the 2021 versions of those products.

The club has cancelled its upcoming membership meeting as well as weekly rides.
