A Roseburg man was cited after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a house early Monday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at 4:25 a.m. a sedan was found partially inside a home in the 2100 block of Northwest Troost. The driver had left the scene on foot and was located a few blocks away.

An investigation revealed the car had traveled about fifty feet off the roadway, before hitting the exterior wall of the residence. It went completely through that wall, causing major damage to both the exterior and interior of the home.

The report said the driver, 18-year old William Bacus, displayed signs of drug impairment. The investigation revealed the accident was likely caused by impairment and speed. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.

No one was home when the accident took place. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Bacus was charged with reckless driving, second degree criminal mischief, failure to perform the duties of a driver and for DUII controlled substance. He was released.
