A 46-year old woman was jailed following an alleged strangulation incident on Saturday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 9:00 a.m. a deputy went to a residence on Fifth Street in Canyonville following reports that the suspect had come in the victim’s house and was in the backyard, even though there was a restraining order against her. The deputy reported that Candace Johnson walked around the side of the house and was heard pounding on the back door of the residence.
The report said an investigation determined the suspect had choked and menaced the victim.
Charges included strangulation, menacing and for violating a restraining order. Bail was set at $17,500.
