NO ONE HURT WHEN AIRPLANE CRASHES

No one was hurt when an airplane crashed near the Toketee Airstrip on Wednesday afternoon.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 3:00 p.m. a San Francisco man attempted to land at the airstrip to take a break. The report said the front landing gear gave way which caused the crash and damaged the propeller.

The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Forest Service was contacted. A deputy used his winch to pull the plane off the runway. Search and Rescue staff was contacted to give the pilot and his family a courtesy ride to Roseburg.
