A Riddle man was jailed following an alleged strangulation incident early Saturday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 12:30 a.m. deputies were called to a residence in the 300 block of East First Avenue. The report said that 63-year old Donald Zenchenko became upset because the victim did not come running when he honked his horn outside the house.

The report said the suspect then punched the victim in the head several times and then strangled the victim. Both had injuries consistent with the report. Zenchencko left before deputies arrived but was later contacted and placed under arrest.

Charges include felony strangulation, fourth degree assault, two counts of harassment and for reckless endangering. Bail was set at $61,250.
